Why Benchnode exists
Most plugin comparisons repeat vendor claims or test on fast servers hardly anyone uses. Benchnode measures for itself: on shared hosting, with Elementor, on a page that looks like yours.
Who's behind it
I’m Ben Marten and I run Benchnode. I work with WordPress and Elementor myself, and I know the question you’re probably asking right now: every plugin promises to make your site faster, safer or more privacy-friendly. Whether that’s true, and by how much, is almost never written anywhere. So I measure it.
How I work
- Every test runs in my own lab, a WordPress install on ordinary shared hosting in Germany.
- I change one setting at a time and measure after every change. So you see what each setting really does.
- Every result comes with date, versions and raw data. If a plugin changes significantly, I test again.
- I write down what can break, not just what gets faster.
The details are on the methodology page.
What I don't do
I don’t copy vendor claims without checking them, and I don’t sell placements. Benchnode is funded through affiliate links marked with an asterisk. A plugin with a partner program doesn’t get better numbers because of it.
